Mr. Sicotte joined the firm in September, 2011. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and raised in McKinney, Texas.  Mr. Sicotte represents clients in both litigation and corporate/non-profit transactional matters.

Corporate Governance and Commercial/Real Estate Transactions

Mr. Sicotte represents individuals, for-profit business entities, and non-profits in a variety of transactional areas including general corporate governance, business/non-profit formation and exemptions, and business acquisitions.  Mr. Sicotte has represented clients on the following matters:

  • Represented purchasers and sellers in commercial real estate sale transactions with sales prices ranging from $1 million to $30+ million
  • Represented lessors and lessees in commercial lease transactions, lease drafting, lease review, and due diligence
  • Represented clients in formation of Texas for-profit and non-profit entities and drafting of corporate governing documents such as company agreements, partnership agreements, and buy-sell agreements
  • Represented business owners in corporate asset sales with sales prices of $750,000+
  • Represented borrowing businesses in multi-million dollar commercial loan transactions

Commercial Litigation

Mr. Sicotte enjoys a diverse litigation practice in matters ranging from general and complex commercial disputes to media defense, at both the trial and appellate level, in both state and federal forums.  Mr. Sicotte has represented clients on the following matters:

  • Represented individual and corporate defendants in libel/slander lawsuits Anti-SLAPP motions to dismiss under the Texas Citizens Participation Act
  • Represented settlement purchasers in the structured settlement/annuity secondary market in disputes with annuity issuers, insurance companies, and competing settlement purchasers under the Texas Structured Settlement Protection Act
  • Represented businesses and individuals in collection actions and post-judgment collection matters
  • Represented corporate and individual real property owners in forcible entry and detainer lawsuits to recover property from tenants and others
  • Represented settlement purchasers in transfer actions under the Texas Structured Settlement Protection Act
